FIRST JOB AFTER ROSE-HULMAN?

I learned that the initiative and self-motivation that had been so important at Rose-Hulman was equally important in the workforce; you own your success.
MOST MEMORABLE ROSE-HULMAN PROFESSOR?
Tough question—so many! I would have to say Dr. Ron Artigue [Chemical Engineering], as he not only was a great professor in a classroom setting, but also clearly showed how much he cared about his students outside the classroom. I can't remember a single home basketball game that he wasn't in the stands rooting for us!
IDEAL WEEKEND?
A mix including a lot of time with my family, some quiet/down time to read, and time with good friends ... including time outside in gorgeous weather, and a balance of active time and relaxation time. And definitely lots of wonderful food and wine throughout!
STAR TREK OR STAR WARS?
Neither, but, if I had to pick, I’d say Star Wars.
WHAT IS THE NERDIEST THING YOU DO?
I love Excel spreadsheets and use them in many aspects of my life, both professional and personal...even including planning details of vacations.
ADVICE TO INCOMING ROSE-HULMAN STUDENTS?
Definitely work hard and do your best to get the best grades possible, but balance that with enjoying time with friends and getting involved with an activity/club you're passionate about. The unique environment of RHIT is something you will not find anywhere else, and the friendships and memories from your Rose-Hulman days are something you will always treasure! Also, grades/book smarts are important, but combining that with leadership and strong communication skills is what is going to set you up for the most success in your career.
