FIRST JOB AFTER ROSE-HULMAN?
Graduate Research Assistant at NASA Langley in Hampton, Virginia.
MOST VALUABLE LESSON YOU LEARNED ON THAT JOB?
Strange is beautiful, too.
MOST MEMORABLE ROSE-HULMAN PROFESSOR?
Phil Cornwell [Mechanical Engineering] for his head-to-toe passion for teaching engineering. It was obvious that he absolutely loved what he was doing. The more I got to know him and his family, the more I got to see that meaningful leadership originates in the heart behind the everyday and sometimes mundane details.
IDEAL WEEKEND?
With my family hiking, catching/foraging fresh ingredients, and then cooking up a memorable meal with friends. Reading a good book, staying up late and actually FINISHING an unfinished art project.
STAR TREK OR STAR WARS?
Can I abstain from this one?
WHAT IS THE NERDIEST THING YOU DO?
Train and equip five smaller versions of myself, mostly done in our tiny, nerdy house.
ADVICE TO INCOMING ROSE-HULMAN STUDENTS?
Think deeply about why you are doing what you're doing. A good and true answer will remind you that the difficulties and sacrifice are meaningful, light, and momentary.
