Course Descriptions

The curriculum of the program in the Department of Mathematics is designed to provide a broad education in both theoretical and applied mathematics. It also develops the scientific knowledge and the problem solving, computing, and communications skills that are critical to a successful mathematically based career.

MA 342 - Computational Modeling

  • Prerequisites: MA 212, and either CHE 310 or CE 310 or MA 332 or ME 323
  • Corequisites: None

Computational modeling and simulation of scientific problems using Matlab. Students will create and utilize computer-based models to solve practical problems. Monte Carlo methods, linear systems, solution of ODEs.
