Course Descriptions

The curriculum of the program in the Department of Mathematics is designed to provide a broad education in both theoretical and applied mathematics. It also develops the scientific knowledge and the problem solving, computing, and communications skills that are critical to a successful mathematically based career.

MA 430 - Topics in Applied Mathematics

A topics course in the general area of continuous applied mathematics. Topics may include mathematical physics, mathematical biology, mathematical finance, mathematics of vision, PDEs, image processing methods, continuum mechanics, dynamical systems, and mathematical modeling. A student may take the course for credit more than once provided the topics are different.
