Dr. Patricia Carlson teaches a variety of courses involving genres of American literature. Her areas of expertise include new media and organizational change, risk communication and ethics, and human communication. She is the founding director of the Portal Resource for Indiana Science and Mathematics (PRISM) program, which provides resources and professional development to middle school teachers in STEM areas. Dr. Carlson has been recognized as a finalist for Indiana's top STEM sector award, TechPoint's Mira Award. She has several years of industry experience working for NASA and various branches of the military. She taught at the University of Iceland as a Fulbright Scholar and has received the Board of Trustees͛ Outstanding Scholar Award. She also advises the Blue Key Honor Society and Tri Delta sorority.
