Friday, January 17, 2020
Five civil engineering students have been recognized as Asphalt Pavement Association of Indiana (APAI) Scholars and received scholarships totaling $11,000. The honors were presented at the organization’s 2019 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Indianapolis.
Recognized for the second straight year were seniors Ethan Britt from Louisville, Ky.; Cole McCreary from Brookville, Ind.; and Caleb Williams from Terre Haute, Ind. New scholars are juniors Dawson Allen from Yorktown, Ind., and Zachary Tate from Maryville, Tenn. Each of them has had internships and other work experiences in the civil engineering field.
APAI supports students studying construction management, civil engineering, and construction engineering and management at six nationally accredited Indiana colleges and universities. Students complete an in-person interview with members of the organization’s scholarship committee. It is hoped that the scholarship recipients will remain in Indiana following graduation and seek employment with APAI’s member contractors.
