Available resources are:
A Digital Library of more than 6,000 free, online teaching resources that mirror the digital tools used in the modern workplace. These include simulations, scientific visualizations, virtual labs, collaborative skills builders, process modelers, serious gaming, and access to live data. Click on “Search Materials” on the upper left side of the screen. The library is searchable by keywords and indexed to Indiana Academic Standards. The collection doesn’t require an account.
Access to PRISM’s Moodle free learning management system that supports teaching and learning. The platform provides course management tools for tracking student participation, constructing and completing homework/quizzes, and grading. The system also supports group communication, assessment and content storage. Moodle uses many elements of social networking and new media to engage young people in active learning. This resource requires persons to go through a short process to set up an account. At the PRISM website, click on “Create an Account” in the upper left side of the screen.
The PRISM program has been providing resources to Indiana elementary and secondary teachers since 2003. The program’s services are provided by Lilly Endowment Inc. and Rose-Hulman.
Persons needing help using any aspect of PRISM and its resources should contact Bob Jackson at jackson2@rose-hulman.edu or Ryan Smith at smithrn@rose-hulman.edu.
