FIRST JOB AFTER ROSE-HULMAN?

Minor League Baseball player.

MOST VALUABLE LESSON YOU LEARNED ON THAT JOB?

It’s not always about what you know, it is often about who you know so take the time to meet people and nurture relationships.

MOST MEMORABLE ROSE-HULMAN PROFESSOR?

There are so many but I have to say Dr. Mech [Mechanical Engineering] because who else could make Thermodynamics seem so funny?

IDEAL WEEKEND?

Generally speaking it would involve traveling somewhere new with old friends and undertaking a physical challenge together followed by a celebratory meal on a patio.

STAR TREK OR STAR WARS?

Star Wars.

WHAT IS THE NERDIEST THING YOU DO?

I love to study the biomechanics of the baseball swing with special focus on players who do not swing with conventional mechanics. Then I try to repeat their mechanics in our test cage to understand how they work.

ADVICE TO INCOMING ROSE-HULMAN STUDENTS?

Meet everybody and try everything because that degree will get you in the door, but it’s the soft skills that truly drive change, in this world.
